Use Strikethrough Formatting In Word 2007

Word includes several different character formats such as bold, italics, underline, shadow, emboss and so on. One of the formats you may not be familiar with is called Strikethrough. Word will add a horizontal line through the middle of the selected text. This type of formatting can be useful when you need to track changes you are making to text.

You can apply strikethrough formatting to text in Word using the steps described below.

  1. Select the text that you want to change.
  2. On the Home tab, click the Font Dialog Box Launcher, and click the Font tab.
  3. Select the check box beside Strikethrough.
