Using Drag and Drop Text Editing, you can move and copy selected text using the drag and drop method. Select the text you want to move or copy (this can be a word, sentence or paragraph). Point to the highlighted text, hold down the Ctrl key, and drag the text to the new location.
Now you can see why this is referred to as Drag and Drop Text Editing. If you never use this method to move text around a document, you can disable it using the process listed below.
- Within Word, click the Microsoft Office Button and click Word Options.
- Click Advanced.
- Under Editing, clear the check box beside the Allow text to be dragged and dropped option.

Hi - thanks for tip re drag and drop - in your experience have you ever had word stop allowing you to drag and drop text. I get it happening often and I have to close and reopen the application. Any advice or comment?
