Prevent XP (Professional) From Displaying Your Name On Start Menu

When you log onto XP, it automatically places your name at the top of the Start Menu. This is handy if there are multiple users logging onto a single XP system. However, if you are the only one who logs on, having your name appear on the Start Menu serves no real purpose.
You can prevent your name from being displayed on the Start Menu using the Group Policy Editor as described below:
- Click Start and click Run.
- Type gpedit.msc and click OK.
- Navigate to User Configuration | Administrative Templates | Start Menu And Taskbar.
- Locate and double-click the Remove User Name From Start Menu setting.
- Click the Enabled option button and click OK.
- Close the Group Policy console. The change to your Start Menu will take place immediately.

I came across this and found it to be very helpful. I was also wondering if you know how to change the name it displays. Thanks for all the tips, Joseph
