Add A Watermark In Word 2003

Posted by on May 11, 2007 | 4 Comments

One way you can spice up a document is to add a watermark. A watermark is simply a very faint image that appears behind your text. For example, it may be a company logo or name. You may have seen documents before that have the word confidential behind the text. Yes, this is a watermark!

Word 2003 makes it simple for you to add your own watermarks to a document. Keep in mind before you complete the steps below that you cannot be in Web Layout view.

To add a text watermark:

  1. Click the Format menu, point to Background, and select Printed Watermark.
  2. Select Text Watermark.
  3. Select the text you want to use or type in your own.
  4. Select any other formatting options you want to use.
  5. Click OK.

To add a picture watermark, complete step 1 from above and select the Picture Watermark option. Use the Select Picture button to locate the picture you want to use and click OK.

    Dianna,
I’ve checked the settings for autocomplete in IE7 (both the content & advanced tab within Internet options) & it does not work to complete any words in any field on any page. I haven’t seen this work for anyone using IE7. Do you have a fix?

    regards,
    Joseph

I added a watermark to a document. The problem is that in adding the watermark, Word added one line to the first page of my document, two lines to the second page, etc. through all the pages of the document.

This, obviously, screws up the formatting of the document.

How do I get rid of the added lines?

    Thanks!
I have a word document with table in it. Such as table covers the entire page of the word document, can u suggest some option to add water mark which is above the text. Currently, when I add water mark to the image, the water mark goes below the table and is not visible.

    Regards
