Microsoft Word is makes it very simple for us to create a Word document. It goes so far as to correct most of your spelling and grammar mistakes as you type. Using the AutoFormat and AutoCorrect options, Word takes care of almost everything, leaving you to focus on the content.
One of the AutoFormat options apply to URLs. If you have ever typed in a URL or someone’s email address, you have more than likely seen Word take over and turn it into a hot hyperlink.
If you do not like this feature, you can easily turn it off using the steps listed below.
- Click the Microsoft Office Button and select Word Options.
- Click Proofing then AutoCorrect Options.
- Select the AutoFormat As You Type tab.
- Clear the check box beside the Internet and network paths with hyperlinks option.
Alternatively, you can also disable an individual hyperlink by pressing the CTRL + Z keystrokes immediately after you type the address.
