AbsoluteShield Internet Eraser Lite contains a pop-up blocker and a privacy protector. It protects your privacy by cleaning all the tracks of your Internet and computer activities. The tool is integrated with Internet Explorer and can erase the browser history, cookies, typed URLs, recent documents, Recycle Bin, and temporary folders in one click, completely removing these files from your hard disk without the possibility of any practical software or hardware recovering them.

The above program seemingly is *not* free. It’s merely free to download, an activity which is pretty obvious.
This type of ‘error’ is so frustrating in that one has to take the time to check out the ‘Free’ link, only to find out it’s not free.
My suggestion, also made some years ago, is to identify downloadble but payment required programs as simply “Try” or “Try this”.

There is a “lite” version (which is completely free), and there’s a “pro” version (not free). The links above have now been fixed to more easily point to the lite version!
