ZipGenius 6

Need yet another powerful alternative to WinZip for zipping and unzipping your files? Well I can give you one, and I’ll even do it for free. While looking for other good zipping programs that have not gotten a lot of press, I found ZipGenius. I might be able to say it is one of the best (if not the best) free zip program out there today.

You wouldn’t think that finding a good compression program would be that hard these days. They all pretty much do the same thing, right? Well some have this feature, and others have that feature. ZipGenius does a good job at trying to pack everything in it can - for being a freeware download.

ZipGenius is a powerful zip tool that offers support for more than 20 different compression formats, including 7zip, ZIP64, UPX, and many others. It supports drag and drop, five compression levels, full customization, and integration in Windows Explorer. The program also comes with a built in FTP client that allows you to download and upload files from within the software.

Don’t like the look of the program? It comes with the ability to skin it as well, so you can change the way it looks with little to no fuss at all. All in all, I was pretty happy to have found ZipGenius. If I hadn’t already paid for one of its competitors you can bet that this would be going on all of my personal computers.

I have aquired zipgenius 6 but need some step by stel guidance on how to select, save and send a pps in email…..Would appreciate your help…..hb

I am a fan of zipgenius having used it for a few years. However after downloading it onto my new laptop (Vista) I find that everytime the mouse/cursor touches or brushes over a zipped file icon, explorer drops out. (An error comes on screen). This also means I’m unable to attach zipped files to email. (I’m even having trouble deleting zipped files as the error comes up whenever I go to click on one) What are your thoughts on the cause. The computer is brand new and has norton antivirus so a virus sounds unlikelyl to me. Could it be a compatibility problem with vista? thanks
