Key Launch v1.31

  • No Related Post

The quick launch tool provided by the task bar in Windows is outdated and just does not do the job for me anymore. I have too many programs I like to use, and for me, quick launch just seems less efficient than some of the other options out there. To launch my programs quickly, I have been using Key Launch.

Key Launch is a free program for Windows that will allow you to quickly type in the first few letters of a program and get it to come right to you. All I have to do is launch it, type in “fir,” and it tells me I wanted to launch Firefox. Quick and painless.

Here are a few more details about this freeware download:

Key Launch enables you to quickly launch programs and documents from your keyboard by simply typing the first few letters of the name or a pre-defined alias command. By default, the program indexes your desktop, Start menu, and Recent Documents, but you can extend the index and add other folder locations as well. To launch a command, simply press Ctrl+Q (customizable) and type the command into the dialog.

Sure there are a couple of other programs out there that do this, but for some reason I think Key Launch is just a little better than all the rest. Seems to be quicker to respond and much more customizable. If you need a new way to launch your programs, I think you should give Key Launch a shot.

Mitch,

The link for Key Launch leads to a 403 error message. Just a heads up.

Attempt to download the program from the above site results in a “forbidden” error.

How about a good url? Email to hleveque@verizon.net

Where do I go to download “Key Launch”?

I think this posting was more than the host could handle. I eventually able to get Key Launch from the posted URL however it took random attempts throughout the day.
