Change The Alignment And Position Of Bulleted/Numbered List In Word 2003

You can easily change the alignment and position of your bulleted and numbered lists within Word. You need to open the Bullets and Numbering window and change the Number position and Text position.

The Number position values determine the position of the list is relation to the margin or indent. The Text position values determine the position of the text in relation to the numbers.

To change the alignment and position of a numbered list:

  1. Select the appropriate numbered list in your document.
  2. From the Format menu, click Bullets and Numbering.
  3. Click the Numbered tab.
  4. Select the format that matches your numbered list format.
  5. Click Customize.
  6. Do one of the following:
  7. Select the options you want to use under Number position and Text position.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click OK to close the Bullets and Numbering window.
