Change Margins For A Cell In A Table (Word 2003)

Setting margins in table cells can be a challenge if you aren’t sure how to do it. Some people may try using the ruler; however, they will soon discover that this is not the way to go. If you want to change the margin of a table cell, you need to open the Table Properties window.

The steps below describe how to change the margins of a single table cell.

  1. Click inside the appropriate cell.
  2. From the Table menu, click Table Properties.
  3. Click the Cell tab.
  4. Click Options.
  5. Clear the Same as the whole table check box, and then enter the new margin values.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click OK to close the Table Properties window.
