Automatically Format Your Tables In Word 2003

Word makes it easy for you to create tables that have a professional look to them. You can manually format your tables or you can apply one of the built-in table formats that are included in Word.

To apply a format to a table in Word 2003, complete the steps described below:

  1. Click anywhere within your table.
  2. From the Table menu, click Table AutoFormat.
  3. Click through the list of Table Styles and select the one you want to apply.
  4. At the bottom of the window select the table elements you want to apply the formatting to.
  5. Click Apply.

Disappointing; Using Word AutoFormat is what you get from the Word help files. I go to the net for more advanced help like, in this specific case, how to customize the formatting of each cell which is difficult to dig out of Word help. I don’t think much effort went into this tip.
