Not to long ago, I had to work on editing a document with someone else live and in person, and while we did get the job done, we probably could have done it more efficiently. When two people are pointing fingers, reading aloud, and swapping a keyboard, things can become inefficient. Editing documents on the Web is not a new thing, but the way in which we do so has changed. In companies and other collaborative environments, more than one person can end up being assigned to making a document work, and this means that the method of solitary editing doesn’t necessarily work anymore. Instead, people need to work together at the same time to really make that text shine. Because of this, SynchroEdit has provided a way for multiple users to edit at once.
This isn’t another back-and-forth thing where you make your changes, send them off to the rest of the team, and then wait for an indeterminate period of time to receive their modifications. With SnychroEdit, users can jump into the WYSIWYG or plain text editor together on their separate computers and start working. Each user’s changes will be marked with a specific color, and you’ll also see what they’re currently working on. Besides standard documents, this open source product can also be used for programming, conferences, teaching, and any other uses that you can come up with.

Hmmm, I use gobby ( http://gobby.0×539.de/trac/ ) which I prefer to relying on a 3rd party service.
