What are you doing? That may seem like a nosy question, but it’s one that’s asked numerous times each and every day. We used to have to call one another to find out who was doing what and when, but as our lives have become more connected through the Internet, the progress of our lives and our daily activities has become very transparent. Now you can literally follow people’s thoughts while they’re doing their grocery shopping. Creepy, huh? Twitter is a service that is encouraging this sharing of daily thoughts and activities, and they make it so easy to do, that you’ll probably be tempted to try it out for yourself.
Essentially, as long as you’re within reach of your cell phone, an IM client, or a Web browser, you can provide updates on what you’re doing at that exact moment. These text blurbs that make up Twitter are usually very brief and to the point, but they help their senders to archive thoughts and experiences and share them with an audience. Great, now even more people are going to be able to follow you as you take your trips to the bathroom.
