Confabb

Besides going to Gnomedex for the past three years, I haven’t really been to any other technology conferences. I’m located in Georgia, so that means that I’m far away from all of the action that’s taking place in Silicon Valley and on the West Coast in general. It would be quite pricey for me to fly by the seat of my pants and go to a large number of these conferences (although that flight would be much cheaper), and that’s the biggest reason why I can’t be in attendance at all of the conferences that I’d like to be at. Unlike me, if you’re an active conference attendee, then head on over to Confabb.

This site has built a community around conferences, and even though the conference atmosphere itself is highly steeped in a sense of community, that feeling generally fades away once the event is over, the doors are locked, and everyone goes home. With Confabb, the event can continue, albeit online. You can use the site to find almost 17,000 conferences (wow – that’s a lot of boring panel discussions), and you can also keep track of your favorite speakers and sessions. Rate and review what happened, find out what other attendees had to say, and keep the memory of the event alive. Yes, Le Web 3 will never go away.
