Creating a document that is properly formatted is important in terms of presentation and readability. You want the individuals reading your document to focus on the content, not any the formatting errors it contains.
Word provides you with all the tools necessary to make sure your documents are error free. For example, there is Spell Check and the AutoCorrect Options.
One formatting inconsistency that some people overlook is the number of spaces between words. By configuring the Formatting marks, you can have Word display a small dot for each space between words. This makes it easier to ensure consistent spacing throughout your document.
To configure this formatting option:
- Open Word.
- From the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the View tab from the Options window.
- Under the Formatting marks section, click box beside the Spaces option.
- Click OK to apply your changes.
Word will now display small dots for each space between the words in your document.
