When podcasting first became a huge hit, I remember listening to as many shows as I could handle. My productivity took a nosedive because of this audio preoccupation, but I wasn’t the only person that podcasting affected in this way. Now that a couple of years have passed, I’ve evened out in my podcast consumption, and I only follow about three shows these days. There’s a lot of garbage out there, and you’ll need all of the help that you can get from fellow podcast listeners in order to identify what shows are actually worth your time. ZapZap is an online podcast directory that is driven by the community, and this makes it easier to find stuff that real people enjoy.

The resource showcases the most popular podcasts as voted on by the users, and you can easily brows through the directory, listen to the shows, and comment on what you hear. Each user is given a Zaplist that they can use to keep track of what they’re into. When you find an episode that you like, just click the red Zap button and the show will be added to your list. You can then grab your Zaplist in iTunes or RSS format so that you can listen to your personal radio station while away from the site. Power to the people!
