Moving On Up!

Chris and Ponzi are moving today, so your humble editor has heisted something from Chris’ personal blog to put in this space. Let Chris explain:

Dude. We’re moving. Yeah, I know you know we’re moving - this isn’t the first time I’ve mentioned that we’re moving. The point of this post isn’t to say that we’re going to move - we’re actually moving, and it all starts tomorrow morning.

We’ve been in a holding pattern, as has most of Seattle this past week (largely due to poor weather conditions); we were supposed to sign the final paperwork yesterday, according to my calendar. That’s happening tomorrow, before the movers come and move us - and remember, they were going to move us two other times before this one, so the conversation went something like this:

Ponzi: We’ll be signing documents tomorrow.
Movers: So, are you sure you’re moving this time?
Ponzi: Yes, I’m sure.
Movers: We can move you tomorrow.
Ponzi: We were thinking about moving after the wedding.
Movers: Then you’ll lose your deposit.
Ponzi: Oops, then what time tomorrow?
Movers: After you sign your paperwork.
Ponzi: Okay, then you can move us.
Movers: So, are you sure you’re moving this time?
Ponzi: Yes, we’re sure.
Movers: Because we can’t move the move date again.
Ponzi: We understand.
Movers: We’ll move you tomorrow.

So, that’s it - we’re moving tomorrow, and I’m sure it’ll be quite a moving experience. I hope not to be incommunicado for too long! We never transfered our Comcast account to the new location, so it may be a few weeks before life returns to “normal” in the gnomestead. Here’s where the fun begins. Oh, boy!

i cannot get “call the future” to work. might as well remove it. fun idea though.

chris did you guys end up buying or renting?

i am relocating to seattle in a few months - selling my current home in texas - and all the research ive done shows me that i cannot afford to buy there, but ironically i can afford to rent a nice home in west seattle. most of the discussion with realtors, friends, etc. seems that renting long-term is common in seattle. when you look at the median income v. median home sales it becomes fairly obvious to rent.

so i hope you found the home with the wish list you started. we found an amazing home near lincoln park that i hope to secure before my house sells here.
