Assign Numbers To Cells In A Table In PowerPoint 2002

Cells in a table can be numbered just like regular text. There are two ways that you can number the cells in a table. You can manually number each cell which is fine if you have a relatively small table. Alternatively, you can number the cells automatically using the Numbering button on the toolbar.

To automatically number the cells in a table:

  1. Open PowerPoint and select the slide containing the table.
  2. Select the cells you want to number.
  3. Click the Numbering button on the toolbar.

PowerPoint will automatically number each of the selected cells. If you only want to number the first cell in each row, simply select the entire first column in the table.
