I always feel like I am rushing to meet my next deadline. Something needs to be done in an hour, in five minutes and maybe even tomorrow. Now when you are busy and rushed and always on a schedule, it is hard to keep up with things on the computer. WinAlarm is the program that helps keep me on track.
WinAlarm is a freeware reminder and alarm program. You can use it to remind you of specific forthcoming events, or of events that recur on a regular basis. It provides a customizable pop-up color-coded window bearing whatever text you enter, plus a customizable sound (if you want one). It can also provide advance warnings, and after-the-event reminder warnings.
Some of the other features include:
- Easy to use, but powerful
- Plays mp3s, waves, and midi files when an alarm is raised
- You can personalize your alarm windows by choosing themes
- With log files, you will never lose accidentally deleted alarms
You can think of this program as an alarm clock for your personal computer. All you need to do is set it, pick a sound, and you are ready to be notified when your time is up or it is time to go.

You might want to look at Rainlendar (www.rainlendar.net). It does most of the things you mention about WinAlarm - w/o the playing of mp3s, et. al. It’s free & a very nice app, w/ multiple settings.
