Can you guess the average price for 4×6-inch digital photo print from an online photo lab?

Is it:

• A - 29 cents?
• B - 25 cents?
• C - 19 cents? or
• D - 16.5 cents?

If you chose D, you chose correctly… at least by my calculations. (I’ve been tracking over two dozen online digital photo printers for a while now.) Over the course of this year, the average 4×6 print price fell from 18.7 cents per print this spring, to just to 16.5 cents per print this fall.

That represents a healthy 12% drop in cost per print.

While 29 cents per print was once the norm, those days are long gone. You don’t have to look far to find a cheap print, these days. A dozen online shops offer 4×6 prints at 15 cents or less each.
