I’ve been developing advertising materials that include audio and video for a certain project that I’m working on, and when it comes time to narrate them or record an introductory statement, I get the feeling like that work is better left in the hands of a professional voice-over artist instead of mine. I don’t mind doing it, it’s just that there’s something to be said about including “the voice” in what you do, especially if your voice sounds like something that got ripped out and stomped on. If you’ve ever recorded a podcast before, then I’m sure that you’ve dreamed of having a whiz-bang voice introduce your show. To find voice talent, visit Voices.com.
No, these aren’t voices in your head, but they’re voices that belong to others, and some of them sound really great. You can search for talent by keyword and category, and each voice talent listing allows you to listen to a clip of their previous work. Finding out more details about each individual’s experience, skills, and studio equipment is easy enough, and you’ll be able to figure out if the person in question is a good match for what you need. Recruiters of voice talent may even post an open job listing that outlines the script, budget range, and other items so that any interested parties can find the work and contact them about it. The community of talent is what Voices.com is all about, so if you’re looking to become a part of it, sign-up and start searching for ways in which to spread your voice to the world.

Why don’t you use an electronic voice to change your voice. Depending on the software/soundcard you have. You can either read in your comments and electronicallly change your voice, or you can type in your comments and use an electronically synthetic voice. These days your software will probably let you select male or female & accent from several different voices. Just a thought, if you can’t afford the time or cost to contact a proffesional voice to do the job.
