How To Stop Snoring

My wife and I have something in common. We both snore.

We’ve long grown accustomed to it, and the wakee will roll the waker off their back. Problem solved.

However, snoring can be a big problem. It can develop into sleep apnea, a potentially serious health issue. And if one partner already has a problem with insomnia, being awakened by a snorer can be very frustrating.

So what’s the solution?

Well, today’s Family First site just might be of help.

It’s called How to Stop Snoring. It presents information about how to make that blasted night music go away permanently.

The suggestions offered here vary from skipping that bedtime glass of warm milk (it tends to close the throat) to undergoing uvulopalatoplasty. Now don’t tell me you’ve never heard of THAT.

You can peruse all the info at the site in about ten minutes if you’re a fast reader like me.

It’s mostly just good old common sense. I didn’t see any groundbreaking news flashes. But it’s good stuff, and if you follow it, the snoring should decrease.

So if sawing logs is a problem at your house, pop in and see if you might get some help at today’s Family First site!

This page you point to is just a page of AdSense links plus two or three of the most general how-to’s possible, simply placed there to populate the AdSense links appropriately. I’m amazed that a Lockergnome site would link to such dreck.

Useful post. The website you suggested is probably better described as a basic introduction to snoring. Well laid out site with easy navigation

Stop Snoring Tips

Hi, i am an extreme snorer. It has got to the point where me and my girl friend can not share the same bed together because i keep her up all night.

Even while i’m in the next room she can still hear me.

is there any thing i can do to reduce or stop my snoring.

Adam, I’m not a professional, but it sounds like you might have sleep apnea. If your snoring is that severe, it’s worth your time to look into having a sleep study done — if you’re insured, the costs might even be covered.

I used to have the same problem, and now I use a have a CPAP machine to help ensure I’m able to breathe properly at night and no longer snore. I wrote a little bit about it here.

I snore so badly that my wife cannot sleep in the same room with me. Here’s what I’ve done thus far — to try and alleviate the problem. We bought the firm memory foam pillows. I use two pillows (one regular & one memory foam). I sleep on my side (always). We run a fan in the bedroom, though it is not pointed at me.
One commonly suggested thing I can’t really do: Don’t take sleep aids. I have fibromyalgia and need a sleep aid to get any real sleep at night.
I am a bit overweight (by ~30 lbs), so I know that’s a problem (and I’m working on it).

Do you have any suggestions for me? My wife have been together 20 years. I don’t want us to grow apart because we can’t share the same bedroom (don’t read anything extra into that). THANKS!

Another good idea to stop snoring is by using snoring pyjamas. Most people who snore generally do so when lying on their back. Basically, you sew a pocket (or even just a sock) on to the back of your pajamas and place a tennis ball inside. When you roll on to your back in your sleep the ball will make you change position as it is so uncomfortable!
