I think that iZarc http://www.izarc.org/) is the ultimate compression utility. It recognizes multiple formats and it’s free.

you didn’t mention the totally free ZipGenius. It handles .zip and .rar compression formats among a long list of many (so forget about having to use two programs WinZip AND WinRar for all your compression needs).
