Now that I’m back into developing software on a regular basis, I’m remembering a lot of the parts of the process that I haven’t been keeping active with. For one thing, software documentation is just not fun to write, and even though I enjoy writing in other areas, I have a hard time getting motivated to write documentation for my own software. In addition, bugs can also prove to be a major annoyance. Just when you think that you’ve created the ultimate application, one of these little baddies will rear its ugly head and tell you that you still have more work to do. Only dealing with one bug is wishful thinking, because in reality, you’ll probably have to cope with much more than that. In order to keep track of every discovered bug, you’ll need to squash them with BugJuice.

This site is a hosted online resource that is all about keeping track of bugs. It’s a nice solution for either one developer or a small team of developers. You can use it to keep track of what happened, what should have happened, and how you can replicate a specific bug. If text just doesn’t say it well enough, you can even upload screenshots to visually display what’s going on, which I believe is very important. Besides you, multiple people can participate in commenting on the projects that are currently being worked on. I think that the free version is too limiting, and they should at least allow you to add a couple of people to the projects. Either way, you’ll be able to get a sense of what’s offered, and if you like it, then you can upgrade to one of the three paid plans.
