Create A Standard User Account In Windows Vista

For security purposes, you should always create a standard user account to be used as your primary account. This way you are not always logging on with an administrative account. Such accounts should only be used when necessary.
With this in mind, after you install Windows Vista, one of the first things you should do is create a standard user account for yourself. This can be done by following the steps below.
To create a standard user account:
- Log on with an administrator account.
- Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or remove user accounts under the User Accounts and Family Safety heading.
- Click Continue at the User Account Control consent prompt.
- From the Manage Accounts, click Create a new account.
- From the Create new account, type a name for the primary user account. Verify that Standard user is selected.
- From Manage Accounts, click the new user account you just created.
- From Change an account, click Create a password.
- Type in a strong password.

Hello, with information you have here i have been able to get my administration log in to show up but even with that log in i can not create another account on this vista machine. it is a vista computer that is brand new. I only set up my own account when i first got it a few weeks ago and now the wife wants into it. using my own account i can not creat any new accounts i get to that page and i type in her name and create account and nothing happens. with your link for showing the admin log in i went in through it and tried to creat a new account with the same results. it acts like its doing it but i never get account is created message and even from admin i can only see the admin acount from the user managment screens. thanks if you can offer more help

I found out why i could not creat an accout, i had to log into admin and i had to creat the new accounts with the parental aceptance software and it worked great. Add that to your string. thanks Richard
