As easy as it is to communicate on the Internet, it’s not always just as easy to share information. Information needs a home, and that home should provide easy access. When you need to exchange content with one individual or a group of people, there are several ways for you to do this, and you can use mediums such as as blogs, e-mail, and instant messaging to get the job done. Speed is a priority, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve needed to quickly distribute directions, Web site addresses, and other tidbits of code with an audience. Just like everyone else, I’ve used the standard methods for as long as I can think of, but shortText.com offers a new solution that is easier than all the rest.

Basically, all you have to do is paste a block of text into the text editor on the site and then they’ll generate a custom URL for you that contains that information. You can link to images, allow comments, and even make the URL private if the content is a little sensitive. It literally took me two seconds to paste the text and build a URL, so it doesn’t get much faster than that.
