If you have computers on your network that run different versions of Windows, you should make the appropriate drivers available so other users can connect to the shared printer. For example, if you want to share the printer connected to a computer running Windows NT 4.0, you should install the driver so users won’t have to search for it when they access the printer.
You can install additional drivers using your printer’s Properties dialog box. Open the Properties dialog box using the steps outlined in the previous tip. Under the Sharing tab, click the Additional Drivers button. Select the appropriate checkbox for the Windows versions you want to install drivers for. Browse to the location of the drivers and click OK. Users running different versions of Windows will now be able to connect to your printer and automatically download the drivers.
