NewsSifter v1.5.0

I know if I ever said NewsSifter in a crowded room, somebody would probably think I just sneezed. I promise you though, I do not need a tissue. What I do need is for you to check out this new RSS reader that promises to learn what you like to read over time. Sure there are dozens of RSS readers out there today, but how many can promise that?

Here is what the author of NewsSifter says:

The problem with RSS news readers is you are flooded to hundreds of stories in a disorganized jumble, you do not even care about 70 percent of them and you can not even find the ones you do care about.

NewsSifter changes all this. NewsSifter learns what you like and how you organize information and presents you with only the stories you find interesting and in a organization that makes sense to you.

Now if you have seen more than one RSS reader, the interface of NewsSifter should be very familiar to you. Of all the different choices out there, layout is one area where they do not differ much.

So what do I like about this freeware download? Well, it shows a lot of promise. I like the fact that they are offering something new and hopefully they will be able to build on that “learning” feature over time.

It’s not really a social network, it’s basically Facebook’s like button but with Google’s social infrastructure.

I found it confusing and time consuming.

How in the world can you find this confusing?
It’s just like a tweet button, just a lot faster and easier…
