Allow Pop-ups From Specific Web Sites (XP SP2)

One of the changes you will notice when you install Service Pack 2 for Windows XP is the Pop-up Blocker included with Internet Explorer. As the name would imply, it is designed to stop those pesky pop-ups from appearing on your computer.

You may run across Web sites that need to display pop-up windows to display forms, menus, and so on. In such cases, you can add the specific Web site to the list of allowed sites. By doing so, the Pop-up Blocker will permit pop-ups from the site.

  1. Within Internet Explorer, click Internet Options from the Tools menu.

  2. Select the Privacy tab.
  3. Click the Settings button under the Pop-up Blocker section.
  4. Under the Address of Web site to allow field, type in the host name of the Web site. For example, http://wp3.lockergnome.com.
  5. Click the Add button. The Web site will appear in the Allowed sites list.
  6. Click Close.
  7. Click OK to save your settings.

Re: Diana’s Allow Pop-Ups from specific sites.
    Didn’t work for me.
When I tried to enter a desired URL,
IE response was “Only https sites are allowed.”
