Disable AutoRecover In Excel

  • No Related Post

Excel automatically saves your work every few minutes. This is referred to as the Autorecovery feature and it is included in other Office applications. Autorecovery is designed to prevent loss of work from power outages, application errors, and so on.

Some people may find the AutoRecover option a nuisance because you are unable to modify the spreadsheet while the file is being saved. If you are in the habit of manually saving your work often, you can disable the AutoRecover feature.

To disable the AutoRecover feature in Excel 2003:

  1. Open Excel.

  2. From the Tools menu, click Options
  3. From the Options dialog box, click the Save tab.
  4. Underneath the Workbook Options section, click the Disable AutoRecover option.
  5. Click OK.
