StartMenuEx

Sometimes vanilla just isn’t enough. For many folks (including myself), the default Windows start menu is just that. Vanilla. We have looked at it for more years now than I can count and I want something different. I want some syrup on top. I want a few sprinkles here and there. StartMenuEx gives your vanilla-flavored start menu a few extra toppings.

Here is what the developers of StartMenuEx have to say about the product they have created:

Replace your Start menu with a totally customizable menu, that you can setup to your specific requirements, making normal everyday tasks much more efficient.

StartMenuEx (AKA smx pronounced “semex”) supports user created plugins, which extend the functionality of your menu! You can also download and create new smx Themes to change the look of your menu!

Want to see what it looks like in action? Be sure that you check out all of the screenshots listed on the Web site. In addition to the default plugins, icons, and themes, you can always pick up more by visiting the community forums it provides.

So do you want try using your start menu in a different way? If you are tired of vanilla and want to take a dip or two of rocky road, then give StartMenuEx a shot. I can promise you that it will not leave a bad taste in your mouth.
