Use Double Spaces In Your Document (Word 2002)

A Lockergnome reader recently asked me how to use double spacing in a Word document. There are two methods that you can use. The first method requires you to make a small configuration change to Word as described in the steps below.

  1. Open your Word document.

  2. From the Format menu, click Paragraph.
  3. Verify that the Indents and Spacing tab is selected.
  4. Use the drop down arrow under Line spacing and click Double.
  5. Click OK.

The second method for setting your line spacing to double is to use the keyboard. Hold down the CTRL key and press 2 for double spacing, press 1 to switch back to single spacing, and press 5 to use one-and-a-half line spacing.
