Create A Document Map (Word)

A Document Map is useful when navigating a large document. When you use this feature, Word will create a list based on its heading styles (Heading 1, Heading 2, and so on. You can click on any of the headings in the list to quickly move to that section of the document.

To enable the Document Map, click the Document Map option from the View menu. The document map is displayed on the left side of your document based on the headings in your document. You can customize the heading levels that are included in the document map by right clicking the map and clicking the appropriate heading.
