Create A Shortcut To A Word Template

When you open a new Word document, it automatically inherits settings from the default template. If you need to use a different template, you can open Word, then open a document based on the appropriate template.
If you frequently work with different templates, you may want to create a shortcut on your desktop to a specific template. When you need to open a document based on that template, all you need to do is double click the shortcut.
To create a shortcut to a Word template:
- Right click a blank area on the desktop.
- Point to New and click Shortcut.
- Type in the name of the Word template or click Browse to locate it on your computer.
- Click Next.
- Type in a name for the shortcut.
- Click Finish.
