Check The Health Of Network Components In XP

The Help and Support Center in Windows XP is useful for troubleshooting various problems and obtaining information about how to use the operating system. However, the Help and Support Center does far more than just this. You can use the Network Diagnostics in the Help and Support Center to quickly check the health of network components. It will gather information about hardware, software, and network connections.

To run the Network Diagnostics through the Help and Support Center, complete the steps that are listed below.

  1. Click Start and click Help and Support Center.

  2. Under the Pick a Task List, click Use Tools to view your computer information and diagnose problems.
  3. From the list of Tools, click Network Diagnostics.
  4. Click Set scanning options to select the network tests you want to perform.
  5. Click Scan your system.

Once the tests are complete, the results will be displayed. You can click the Save to file button to save the results of the scan to a file for future reference.
