Convert Your Document To A PowerPoint File (Word 2002)

  • No Related Post

If you want to turn a Word document into a PowerPoint presentation, one method you can use is to manually copy the text from one document to the other. This is fine for a small document but can be time consuming for larger ones.

There are a couple of alternative methods for moving your text from a Word document into a PPT presentation. One method is to use the Send To option within Word as described below.

  1. Open the document you want to use as a PPT presentation.

  2. From the File menu, point to Send To, and click Microsoft PowerPoint.

PowerPoint will automatically launch and your text will appear on the various slides. Keep in mind that it will likely require some reorganization but it is a quick way of getting the content into slides.

Another method is to begin by opening PowerPoint as described below:

  1. In PowerPoint, click the Outline tab.

  2. Click the slide icon you want the outline text to appear after.
  3. On the Insert menu, click Slides from Outline.
  4. Go to the folder where you’ve stored the document whose text you want to use.
  5. Double-click the document to insert the text.

Keep in mind that you can insert text from the following file formats: .doc, .rtf, .txt, or .htm file. The text from the .htm file will appear on a single slide, in a text box.
