Troubleshoot XP Network Problems On Your Own

If you find you need to troubleshoot a network problem in WinXP, you can go straight to the its Help And Support Center (click Start and select Help And Support). You can pick from a list of help topics, ask for assistance, or pick a specific task. For example, to troubleshoot a home networking problem, click the Networking And The Web link. In the Networking And TheWeb menu on the left of the window, click Fixing Networking Or Web Problems.

From the list of problems that appear in the right pane, click Home And Small Office Networking Troubleshooter. The Networking Troubleshooter will present you with a list of problems; select one and click Next. Once you’ve narrowed down the trouble, the Troubleshooter will present you with possible resolutions. This is a nice feature in XP, however, don’t rule out any calls to tech support.
