Make Internet Explorer The Default Browser

If you are only using a single browser, that is the program that will be launched when you click an HTML file, type in a URL from the run command, and so on. However, if you are using more than one browser, you may have a preference as to which one is the default.
You can configure Internet Explorer to be your default browser by opening the Internet options dialog box (Tools | Internet Options). From the dialog box that appears, click on the Programs tab. Place a check beside the option at the bottom of the box “Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser.

Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs/Set Program access and Defaults>Custom>Choose a Default Web Browser (This will take care of the Mozilla Override of your current browser configuration).

Looking for command string to override the default browser. Open with sure didn’t work :(. I recall while registering after installing a printer it brought up IE but NS was the default browser. Some kind of command string had to do this. Question is did it just change the default browser for the reg or was it a command issued by the software install?
Thanks
Henry
