Social networking is more than just a fad - it’s a phenomenon. A bevy of services exist for the sole purpose of getting you connected to old, current, and new friends, and many of them do a great job of that. Relationships can be formed and grown through these networks if done properly, and this is seen by the fact that millions have already signed up and hundreds of thousands are flocking in each and every day. The goal of most of these services is to build and promote regular friendships, but with LinkedIn, you’ll form business relationships that could possibly change your life.
A few of my contacts use LinkedIn to stay in touch, and I’ve even been contacted by recruiters who have asked me to join their networks. This service is based on professional relationships, and everyone from interns to executives reside here. Your profile will have an audience numbering in the millions, and if you play your cards right, you could easily land a job by working through your contacts. LinkedIn is free to join, but they also offer paid accounts that provide you with even more tools.
