Apply Same Security Settings To All Computers (2k/XP/2003)
One method of configuring computers with the same security settings is to manually configure the settings on each computer in your workgroup. The problem with this is that it can be very time consuming and there is a chance that the security settings between computers may be different. An easier method is to import the same security template on each computer to configure the security settings. You can import a security template using the following method:
- Click Start, click run, type mmc and Click OK.
- Click File then Add/Remove snap-in.
- Click Add.
- Select Security Configuration and Analysis. Click Add.
- Click Close.
- Click OK.
- Right click Security Configuration and Analysis and select Open Database.
- Type in a File name and click Open.
- Select a template and click Open.
- Right click Security Configuration and Analysis and select Configure Computer Now.
- Click OK to use the default error log file path.
The security settings contained within the template you selected will now be applied to the local computer.
