Those of us who are plugged into the technology lifeline have likely used (or at the very least known about) RSS for quite some time now. Most of us are probably eager to admit that syndication has shaved many minutes (or even hours) off of our daily content feedings. When you primarily associate with your fellow geeks, you begin to forget about how most of the Internet population still doesn’t know and understand what RSS really is. Even though we may be a part of the early adopter crowd, it doesn’t mean everyone else is. Because of this, it’s important to distribute your content in a variety of options that satisfy each and every visitor. With FeedBlitz, you can give your readers the option to receive your blog and RSS feed information through e-mail.

For publishers, all you have to do is add a simple form to your Web site in order to allow people to subscribe to your content. With the standard free service, a daily digest containing your posts from the last day will be sent out to your readers. For subscribers, they can add any RSS feed or URL that they want to monitor, even if the destination in question doesn’t use FeedBlitz. You could argue that we should be educating users about how to use RSS instead of letting them just subscribe via e-mail, but you know what - who cares. People will use what works for them, and if the Inbox is their sanctuary, give them the option to use it to read what you have to say.
