DVDs Created With XP Media Center Edition Invalid

Some DVD players may not recognize a DVD that you create by using Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition.

This problem occurs because Media Center creates a VIDEO_TS folder and an OpenDVD folder when you use Windows XP Media Center Edition to create a DVD. This behavior follows the DVD-V specification for creating DVDs. Most DVD players recognize DVDs in this format. However, some DVD players recognize only DVDs in the DVD-R format. This format does not use an OpenDVD folder.

To work around this problem, copy the DVD to a local hard disk. Then, create a DVD by using non-Microsoft software that does not create the OpenDVD folder.
