For a writer, their best friend is the beloved word processor that they use day in and day out to craft original content. As weird as it may seem, a symbiotic relationship of sorts begins to develop between the two. No, I’m not going crazy from staring at the computer screen for way too long today. I love my word processor - it’s what allows me to work with my thoughts in a familiar environment. While I would never give up my software, I am intrigued by the idea of writing my words online, thanks to Writely.
This service basically takes the standard functions of the software word processor that you know and love and places them online. You can either create a new document, or upload one that you’ve been working on offline. Once imported, you can edit the document as you normally would, and the formatting options are exactly what you’d expect. Collaboration is one of the coolest features of Writely. You can easily grant certain people access to the document, and then you can all edit it together online. When someone else is working on the document at the same time as you, a notice will appear, and your changes will by synched with theirs automatically. Now your documents can travel with you without actually traveling with you.
