Forget Your Windows Administrator Password? Fear Not!

It’s happened to so many - you forget the password to that critical login of yours. Let it be your online banking, eBay, or your Windows password. The difference is that the passwords for your online banking and eBay accounts can easily be recovered. However, if you forget your Windows administrator password, that opens up a whole different can of worms.

Not long ago, I was completely locked out of my own computer. I had never forgotten a password like that before. I was stuck, because I didn’t want to start formatting the computer - nor did I want to play around with some wonky password reset software from the Net that could corrupt my Windows installation. After speaking to a few, and doing some Googling, I found myself a solution. It’s called Loginrecovery.net, and is really simple to use. I’m always one who is leary of submitting personal data to unknown Web sites, but I saw some really positive results on Google.

Recovering your Windows XP password is literally as easy as 1, 2, 3. LoginRecovery.net provides you with a boot floppy image. You boot your PC with this floppy, and then restart the computer - no need to log in. Then, the image creates a file on the floppy disk. You can’t find the passwords in this file, because they are completely encrypted. This is where the magical work of LoginRecovery.net begins! You go to another computer, insert the floppy, and upload the created file to it. The service is 100% free, but it accepts and encourages donations. Also, if you donate just £10.00 (US$21.48), you will get the password nearly immediately. If you decide to go the free route, you must wait 48 hours for the password to be displayed.

The way i used to recover my winXP password is using OphCrack Live CD. It’s a Linux live cd distro. Just insert OphCrack Live CD to cdrom and boot up with that. Once it boots up it starts password recovery. It can find any password just in a few minutes!
