I’m begging the question: what does a massage chair and a snow thrower have in common? Let’s think about this for a moment. Neither have USB ports or Wi-Fi connections. They’re not powered by Intel or AMD. They don’t have their own IP addresses. They don’t run Windows, Linux, or OS X. And generally speaking, you can’t drive either to an Internet cafe…
Okay, I’ll cop to it. They’re both on my Christmas list. I like to dream big.
But they’ve both been on the list for years… man-o-man, could I have used both of them today.
Mother Nature dumped half a foot of heavy snow on Ranchero Indebto. It took hours to shovel the driveway and walk. A joyous morning filled with outdoor exercise. An afternoon (and evening) filled with back pain.
Was I dreaming when I wrote:
I want a massage chair. But not just any old massage chair. I want one that I can use as a desk chair and control with my computer. A hand held controller just won’t do. I crave a totally programmable massage chair that I can tweak with a web interface. Imagine leaning back at your desk, feeling that familiar twang of pain, and instantly addressing the problem with a click. Could it get better then that?
Not as longingly as this:
I start dreaming of my own snowblower every year, just before Thanksgiving. That when they magically appear at our hardware store and the big box home improvement centers. Every year, I linger longingly over the snowblower display … drooling over the biggest baddest two-stage machines.
