Today’s review is going to be short and sweet. That’s because the site we are reviewing is likewise short and sweet.

It’s called My French Picture Dictionary. Its premise is simple: learn French through seeing pictures of the items represented by the French words.

You can click on pictures to see the French words, or go to a text listing.

Regardless, you will have a small graphical image, followed by the English and French words for the object.

For instance, clicking on a picture of a familiar gas-filled latex sphere provides you with a closeup of the item in question, plus these words: balloon, and le ballon.

Wow, that’s all there is to French? Just drop an occasional vowel?

Well, unfortunately, no. You also have to talk like Maurice Chevalier. Example: “Would you like to see my ballon? Hoh hoh hoh (you know that laugh, right?).

Seriously, you can learn a lot of French words at this site. It’s really kind of addictive.
