Thankful For Thanksgiving

I’m thankful for Thanksgiving. So thankful, in fact, that I thought I’d share my list of thanks with folks who also happen to be thankful. That would (or should) be you on this Thanksgiving day, whether or not you’re an American who celebrates this annual holiday.
- I’m thankful for turkey, although I usually like it when it’s sitting in the Thanksgiving leftovers - turkey sandwiches, turkey divine, turkey pudding, etc. Ponzi is a wiz in the kitchen.
- I’m thankful for the family that can join us for our Thanksgiving meal this year, including Ponzi’s mother (up from California) and her aunt & uncle (from across town). Friends will also be joining us today.
- I’m thankful that Ponzi bought Chinet (disposable) plates for our guests. For, you see, I’m the one who has to clean up after everybody.
- I’m thankful that I can start listening to Christmas music again.
- I’m thankful that I have a Premium Xbox 360, although I haven’t yet attained any games for it (nor have I had a chance to set it up after returning from vacation).
- I’m thankful for the cooler weather in Seattle.
- I’m thankful for Lockergnome’s editor (Bob) who keeps the content flowing evenly throughout our channels, as well as our great set of regular contributors.
- I’m thankful that we have Web hosts Daze.net and Webair.com) that keep us online every day.
- I’m thankful that we have a great software developer on staff. I haven’t officially announced our new Web service, but you’ve probably seen it a few times by now. Expect me to crow about it next week.
- I’m thankful that my parents had a chance to visit our home in Seattle this year, enjoying the Blue Angels as they flew directly overhead (and yes, we hope to be in the same place for next year’s event).
- I’m thankful that I’ve finally set a wedding date with Ponzi: 11.11.2006. We still don’t know how or where we’re going to tie the knot, but at least we know when it’s going to happen.
- I’m thankful that you’re still here with me.
I’m learning to be more thankful for more things more often. Or, at least, highlighting one “positive” for every “negative” that passes over my lips. I’d ask you what you’re thankful for on this Thanksgiving holiday, but you’re probably most thankful that this list of thanks has now officially ended.
