An Open Letter To Sony-BMG

In EFFector 18.40 – which I received late Friday night – the EFF is planning an announcement on Monday, November 21, 2005, about its plans on the Sony CD rootkit issue. It has solicited responses from customers in California and New York who have been infected by the rootkit – I suspect a lawsuit will be announced.

A guide to recognizing the CDs with the software is on this page – along with a listing of the artists and albums that have been discovered with it (not all copies of an album on the list will necessarily have the software). Meanwhile, here’s some more juicy stuff to whet your appetite.
