A logon script can be assigned to all users within a domain using Group Policy. Once you have placed the logon script in the %systemroot% \ SYSVOL \ sysvol \ [Domain Name] \ Policies \ [GUID] \ User \ Scripts \ Logon directory, you can edit the default domain policy as outlined below.
- Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and select Active Directory Users and Computers.
- Right click your domain and select Properties.
- Select Open from the Group Policy tab.
- Double click the Default Domain Policy.
- Right click the Default Domain Policy and select Edit.
- Expand User Configuration | Windows Settings | Scripts (Logon/Logoff).
- Double click Logon.
- Click the Add button.
- Type in the name of the script and Click OK.
- Click OK.
Now when users logon on to the domain, the settings within the logon script will automatically be applied before their desktop appears.
