Export Disk Quota Settings In XP

Disk quotas allow an administrator to limit the amount of disk space users can use on an NTFS volume. Once you configure quota settings on a NTFS volume, you can export the settings to a file. That file can then be imported to other NTFS volumes so you do not need to configure the settings again. You can export all disk quota settings or you can export the settings for a specific user.

You can export quota settings from an NTFS volume that has disk quotas enabled by following the steps below:

  1. Open My Computer

  2. Right click the appropriate NTFS volume and click Properties.
  3. Select the Quota tab.
  4. Click the Quota Entries button.
  5. From the list of entries, click the user you want to export quota settings for.
  6. From the Quota menu, click Export.
  7. In the Export Quota Settings dialog box, specify a destination folder and file name. Click Save.
